IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

I will wait for guidance on each important decision. I will meet the test of waiting until a thing seems right before I do it. ~Twenty-Four Hours a Day

Today I am grateful...

  • that I gave up and switched off the surge protector at 2:30 this morning after the electricity went off and the damned thing would not be quiet
  • for the poem regarding Bush's State of the Union I was sent. If you want a copy (it's too long to post) let me know and I will email you a copy.
  • that my Higher Power guides me to nourish and protect this gift of sobriety I have been so freely given
  • that I chose not to watch Skating with the Celebrities
  • that today I choose to not practice some old relationship faults

Seldom did we look at character-building as something desirable in itself, something we would like to strive for whether our instinctual needs were met or not. We never thought of making honesty, tolerance, and true love of man and God the daily basis of living. ~The 12 and 12

and when it came down to character building vs our own comfort, character buildin was lost in the dust... I love that from the 7th step??? I think... but that is one of my favorite passages frm 12x12 thanks Scott

dang, that quote from the 12X12, step 6 or maybe 7 I think... That's me they're talking about... I would only have been honest, nice or agreeable if it suited some purpose, if I stood to gain something. Now I try to just do the next right thing, like the book says, 'cuz it's the right thing to do...

I love that quote!
