IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Seeking only a select portion of life serves to diminish it all. Embrace the world in all its fullness and delight in the experience of being thoroughly alive. ~Ralph Marston

Today I am grateful...
  • that I was able to rely on the strength of the AA program when someone dear to me was in a precarious position
  • for a friend that interrupted their evening to do something specifically for me, called to find out where I was, came by and dropped something off, just to make me happy
  • that I have said many times that getting sober and working a realistic program cleaned out some old dark and nasty stuff to make room for a lot of good stuff to enter, then today I read the following from 'Twenty-Four Hours a Day':

I believe that in the spiritual world, as in the material world, there is no empty space. As fears and worries and resentments depart out of my life, the things of the spirit come in to take their places. Calm comes after a storm. As soon as I am rid of fears and hates and selfishness, God's love and peace and calm can come in.

The reading yesterday in Cherokee Feast of Days was talking about getting rid of bad habits and not filling the void with good ones simply invites more bad ones and worse...
