IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

One simple concept can get us through the most stressful of times. It's called gratitude. We learn to say, thank you, for these problems and feelings. Thank you for the way things are. I don't like this experience, but thank you anyway.

Today I am grateful...
  • for the overwhelming generosity of a friend
  • to sit in yesterday's noon meeting with a heart full of gratitude
  • that the promises do come true if you are willing to do a little work
  • that my expanding heart is the proof that I am in conscious contact
  • for Jim's ciopinni--mussels, shrimp and Chilean sea bass in a thin rustic Italian sauce and fresh baked baguette--yum
  • for the bottle of Starne's bar-b-que sauce my sister sent. It is from my favorite bbq restaurant back home, Paducah, KY. There ain't none like it and there ain't none better.
  • for the picture of So and Joe that accompanied the bbq sauce

Force gratitude until it becomes habitual. Gratitude helps us stop trying to control outcomes. It is the key that unlocks positive energy in our life. It is the alchemy that turns problems into blessings, and the unexpected into gifts.

Maybe I need to read the Language of Letting Go. My day has been on the bleak side.

Thank you for your ever inspiring list, Scott.
