IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Never talk down to an alcoholic from any moral or spiritual hilltop; simply lay out the kit of spiritual tools for his inspection. Show him how they worked with you. -Alcoholics Anonymous, p. 95

Today I am grateful...
  • to be able to do for someone who gives much to me, who gave me great support when I first got sober. One of the most generous souls I have ever met.
  • that Monday was So's 90th day without a cigarette. Go So!!!!!
  • for 758 days of a new life
  • that these days I answer the phone. I have been pleasantly surprised lately when answering and I am not afraid of who is on the other end like during my previous life.
  • to have seen Dennis R for 30 minutes yesterday
  • that the majority of my past can be great to remember

The one who still suffers from the terrible disease of alcoholism must find in me a friend who will allow him to get to know the A.A. way, because I had such a friend when I arrived in A.A. Today it is my turn to hold out my hand, with love, to my sister or brother alcoholic, and to show her or him the way to happiness.-Daily Reflections

Actually Barbara I have been 90 days without a cigarette. Scott is my brother and we call each other "So"....neither one of us can remember why we started that many years ago. He has been w/o a cigarette for a bit longer than me, thus being my inspiration. Of course he is an inspiration to many :)
