Cease to inquire what the future has in store, and take as a gift whatever the day brings forth. --Horace

Today I am grateful...
  • to have slept peacefully in a warm, cozy bed
  • for the joy of hearing from another how they are experiencing the ease of being present with their program than being 'out there'
  • to listen to another share that her recent experience of being 'out there', just three beers was all it was going to be...it ended up in a crack pipe and a needle
  • that I cannot keep things to myself, that is why I talk with others
  • for the 90 minutes I spent with my sponsor, for his giving nature, his humor, his talent at card reading and the acceptance I found from his words
  • to have heard at last night's speaker meeting a story of a little woman, her 'drunk car' with its doors welded shut and the 400 pound lion she carried around with her (a real live lion)

The art of living lies not in eliminating but in growing with troubles. -- Bernard M. Baruch

The smallest package in the world is an alcoholic all wrapped up in himself.--AA Thoughts for the Day

There is that part of ourselves that feels ugly, deformed, unacceptable. That part, above all, we must learn to cherish, embrace, and call by name.-- Macrina Wiederkehr

A warm and cozy bed is a good item. I shared mine last night with large husband and a 60lb puppy dog. Slept like crap but it's good to have family :)
