- for the countdown...16 days
- for my daily online meditation readings
- that my life is full of reflections, in others and in mirrors
- that the Democrats yesterday put their foot down and are demanding accountability
- for deliciously cool weather
- that the screw in Snowy's tire wasn't long enough to cause any real damage
- for Chuck the mechanic
- that every day I could keep my mouth shut more than I do and to recognize that I need to shut up

16 days, one day at a time.
Let me share this story with you, Scott. As you know, my AA birthday is Sat., Nov. 5th. These past two weeks have been extremely painful and difficult. My sponser has 36 years. I went to my mailbox today, with the usual afternoon tears, and opened a card from you with a beautiful silver and gold chip with XIV. I stopped, paused, and as if a cloud of peace came upon me, I thought, I cannot believe I have not had a drink in 14 years. What a miricle! How amazing is that. And I cried, for the gift of sobriety.
