IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

... the beautiful irony of recovery is that, in our surrender, we found the flexibility we had lost in our addiction, the very lack of which had defeated us. We regained the ability to bend in life's breeze without breaking. When the wind blew, we felt its loving caress against our skin, where once we would have hardened ourselves as if against the onrush of a storm. --NA Just for Today pg. 265

This fourth anniversary of 9/11 I am grateful...
  • that a lot of healing can happen in four years
  • to have heard a straight woman's story last night, who is a Lambda member, and was at one time prepared to fight for her right to stay a member by making people prove that she wasn't gay...in the end that wasn't necessary
  • to have spent time yesterday at an old place of employ, hanging out with Diane. A customer was looking at a catalog of prints and asked how big a certain size was, I walked over to a table of prints, held one up and said it was about that big, 24 x 31. Diane then got a tape measure to check the size and it measured 24 x 31. Sometimes you never lose it.
  • that my niece of thirteen seems to maybe developing her own political sense
