IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Here is a thought that kills a lot of chemical dependents: That may be true for you, but I'm different. We call it terminal uniqueness.

I celebrate that fact that what I thought made me special and different are the things I have most in common with other alcoholics and addicts! --The Pocket Sponsor Page -26,by Shelly Marshall

Today I am grateful...
  • for growing pains
  • for the grounding effect of morning prayers and meditations
  • that by continuing my program of recovery, by doing the things suggested, working the steps, working with others, staying in touch with my Higher Power--these things become the basis of self-propulsion that takes me a little further each day
  • that Houstonians have big hearts
  • that rarely have we seen a person fail that has thoroughly followed our path
  • for the story of Rusty (click for the story)

The people of Houston indeed have opened up their hearts and souls to many.

Have a good day, Scott.

Shan: but...but... I didn't SAY anything! Have you guys been laughing at me behind my back here? On a comment thread everyone but me knows about? I KNEW all of you were just pretending to be my friends. Everyone in AA, too. And church. And my mom...

Seriously, though --

The people of Texas, and especially Houston, have been amazing, truly the brightest beacon of hope and generosity in this whole disaster.

You Texans are famous for believing everything you have is bigger than life. Well, you're showing your hearts really are as big and bright as the stars at night! A proud moment in the proud history of a proud state. :)

I was wondering about that.

Did you visit the Rusty link above>

Well, yeah, I thought the Rusty story was hilarious. But why are you all laughing at ME??? Why do you all hate me??? I'm going to run away to another internet.

Phil, hon, no one's laughing at you, it's the proverbial with you. Get to a meeting! And keep coming back!
