Frank Lloyd Wright

Hollyhock House, Los Angeles

Today is the 138th anniversary of the birth of the great American architect.

"God is the great mysterious motivator of what we call nature, and it has been said often by philosophers, that nature is the will of God. And, I prefer to say that nature is the only body of God that we shall ever see. If we wish to know the truth concerning anything, we'll find it in the nature of that thing"

"The longer I live, the more beautiful life becomes"

I am a sucker for good architecture. Especially the monolithic stuff. I had the pleasure of touring the Hollyhock House in Los Angeles. The original plan was for one main house (pictures here) and several artists studios to frame the property. The lot it sits on is one square city block. Wright was pure genius combined with one of the biggest egos God ever produced.

I grew up near and toured Falling Waters. Didn't he design the Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix? I've seen that too. He's one of my favorites, like you.
