Today I am grateful...

• to the founding members of Lambda Center who created (twenty-seven years ago) a safe haven for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered persons--and the occasional straight person--to recover from alcoholism and addiction
• that all are welcome at Lambda, the only requirement for membership is the desire to stop drinking
• for reminders to place principles before personalities--practice, practice, practice
• for the 'great timers' who keep coming back
• to know that there is a place for me
• for the Saturday 10:00 am 11th Step meditation meeting
• that more and more my cynical mind lets go and allows me to see others as I experience myself. To hear of spiritual growth and realize that others, whom I would have previously judged to be different from me, are struggling or have struggled, and have reached a place of surrender and acceptance, and are in the end no different from myself.
• that the common bond binds us together
• for my great friend Dave who keeps me grounded. Who, when I was newly sober, insisted upon being my friend and helped me over some big hurdles.
