IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow."
~ Melody Beattie

This day I am grateful...

  • that So has the day off to be with her family for a belated Christmas celebration
  • that yesterday Kevin celebrated his eight month sobriety anniversary
  • to have survived a night of extreme restlessness, cramps and other gastrointestinal discomforts
  • for power through powerlessness
  • that these days my mind usually insists on simplicity of thoughts
  • that I can consider myself a rich man fairly unencumbered by stuff. It is said that if you have spare change somewhere that you are in the top 7% of the richest people in the world--I have four cents in my change dish.
  • that I can find comfort in almost every situation, if I am paying attention
  • to marvel daily at how I reached this point in my life and the gratitude for all those who came before me that have led me and many others to a better plane of existence
