Today I am grateful...

• that God gave me my mind and not the mind of a really crazy person
• that I used my Amazon.com gift certificate today to order Alan Carr's quit smoking book and some other queer items
• for Dennis R, who constantly drives home to ME the WE of the program, and of placing sobriety first
• for yesterday's noon meeting on self pity, and how it brought up memories of The Martyrdom of St. Scott ,in which the main character snuck in through your back door and made you believe that you needed to feel sorry for him by presenting himself in the best light and then telling you about all those things that the world had done to make things so terrible for him
• to have run into Michele (an old boss) and her parents last night at Little Pappa's and to be able to hug her mother without all the old resentments I used to have against her. As they were leaving Michele said to me that we need to get together because she is single and BORED!
• that when I let me just be me things are a lot easier
