IF THE ONLY PRAYER YOU SAID IN YOUR LIFE WAS "THANK YOU", THAT WOULD SUFFICE. ~Meister Eckhart

Today I am grateful...

Yesterday I was having a bit of an uncomfortable day. My mood was calm, maybe too calm. It was really a middle of the road kind of moods, where I neither feel up or down. It was enough to feel uncomfortable. So instead of sitting here for hours or crawling under the covers to nap I shared what I was going through with another alcoholic, my friend Dave. He suggested I do a gratitude list right then, which I did while we chatted. He was going to Lambda early to make ballot copies and I decided to meet him there. We hung out, set up the tables for the membership meeting and afterwards some of us went to Hollywood for coffee and sorbet. By that time my mood was altered significantly. Laughter and fellowship offered me a little healing of sorts, especially hearing Don K's giggles. I was able to get out of myself and find relief from the crazies.

On Daily Om I found this for today...

Between the rivers of urban traffic and the cool streams of nirvana is a middle ground.

Sometimes trees need pruning in order to continue blossoming. Find the heavy boughs that are weighing down your life and give yourself a healthy trim. We cannot stop evolutionary and societal change, but if we are in complete control to change ourselves and when we do this, our relationship to everything around us begins to change.
