I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live up to the light I have. ~Abraham Lincoln
Today I am grateful…
- that I rolled with the punches yesterday
- for the outrageous cupcake from Crave handed to me in the back seat last night
- that you can make up a story about that last bullet point! But will you share it?
- for another sober weekend
- for the newcomer text yesterday telling me they were overwhelmed with gratitude and that I could relate
Chair Car by Edward Hopper, 1965
As our integrity grows, our emphasis changes. It is not crucial that we always be right, only that we be honest. We do not have to be winners or high achievers so much as we have to be real human beings. Conquest is not as important as connection. We do not always have to compare ourselves and be better than the next guy. We can exchange and appreciate the communication. ~Touchstones

I've learned that wanting to be right is an ego thing. I don't fight that fight these days. I'd rather have peace.

I've been on that same train; maybe on the same track.
The cupcake was for Valentines Day? Crave is a special friend? Dave always make you sit in the back?
Was it red velvet?
Your kind heart deserved a special cupcake! I'll bet there's a good story behind it :o)
Outrageous huh?
Huge?
Shaped outrageously?
Kept in his glove box?
I was in the back seat being carted to a meeting. The last person we picked up had cupcakes for us from Crave. Mine was spiced with dates and outrageous cream cheese icing. Heavenly. Not such a good story as my intro would suggest.
I like the idea of settling in a chair car with a good book. I crave a cupcake right about now.
this is how bizarre i am, i thought mabye the cupcake was a condom with decorations.
yeah, i have no idea either.... just be glad you don't live in my head :)
